Our Story

Where Music Meets Passion

At Raritan Bay Music School, our story is and always will be all about music. We were inspired to make it happen. Having been started by a group of hardworking musicians and teachers, our school was set up on the belief that music can change lives.

From these kinds of experiences wherein Garrett took the leadership in looking for a school to pave the way to a school’s foundation that offers quality education for the students with interests in music, the music school was founded to provide a conducive environment for learners of all ages and ability levels to discover and learn music with confidence and passion.

Today we are a well-established music school with gifted teachers, modern instrumental and vocal equipment, and an active audience and adherents.

Our Mission

Inspiring Musical Excellence

Raritan Bay Music School has one goal and that is to help any learner reach the highest potential in their musical abilities. We strongly believe that everyone can be empowered through music, and create and boost their self-esteem.

We join hands in this noble Course and mission, to give the students an atmosphere and opportunity to enhance, foster, succeed, and excel in the music world.

This way, our music programs, technique, and performance fostering allow students to embrace music more than a hobby but give them tools and confidence to be the musicians they are dreaming about.

Lessons Instructor

John Spoulos

John Spoulos has taught music for 53 years.  During that time, he has taught some of music’s finest players (Zakke Wylde, Dave Sabo).  In addition, he has taught 2 Grammy Nominee students as well as countless performers.  A student of famed guitarists Christopher Parkening, Andres Segovia, and Lee Ritenhour, John has taught all major styles, including arranging, theory, composition, and songwriting.  While all styles of lessons are taught on the instruments he teaches, he is a strong advocate of teaching to what a student wishes to learn.  The best way to teach is to envelope the style of the student.  In this way, it allows for accomplishment and enjoyment in learning.  The one-on-one sessions are developed to allow the student to receive training in all the styles as well as chord arranging, soloing, and ear training to develop musicianship and style.

Teaching guitar, violin, cello, viola, bass, piano, horns, woodwinds, theory, arranging, songwriting, & music college audition preparedness for college music exams auditions.

Our Values

Creating an Environment for Client’s Self-esteem

Raritan Bay Music School has established a policy where our music education as a group and a class has to be an enriching one. Our values are based on the belief that we should help and nurture creativity and confidence in every person who is with us.

Students should be free to experiment, challenge themselves, and find the outlet for their creativity and we work hard on fostering that atmosphere in our school and our classroom.

Thus, our organization ensures that we showcase these values as we pursue our mandate of encouraging learners to embrace music throughout their lifecycle, and as responsible, active, and caring citizens of society.

A Legacy of Music Education

Raritan Bay Music School, having been in existence for over 20 years, our main business is to offer quality music lessons to students. Originally the founder wanted to bring music to the masses and intended for a school to be a place where people positively develop as musicians and as individuals.

A small school in NJ with worn-out facilities to the three campuses with modern equipped facilities we have continued to focus on our mission of preparing students and promoting lifelong learning of music.

We have grown into a reputable music school in Monmouth Country the current region to continue the tradition of promoting talent in young and existing generations.
